Before 1969, being openly LGBTQ+ was criminal
Patrons fought back. This ignited days of protests—the Stonewall Uprising.
June 28, 1969:
Police raided the Stonewall Inn
Advocating for homeless trans youth. Pride's roots are intersectional.
